Performance and Tuning


Application performance is a measure of how efficient your application runs in your environment. The fastest race car will not win a race if it is only running on one cylinder and in rush hour traffic, just like your CRM or order processing application. Having a properly tuned application environment can offer significant cost avoidance, or simply better utilization of existing resources. Hardware and software resources are expensive, so maximizing there ability to complete work is critical.

As software is layered, performance often comes to a screeching halt and buying more compute power is not always the solution. Augmentity takes a three step approach to application tuning, measure the current performance, identify the bottlenecks and apply the changes to improve the performance.

Throughput of the application and/or the user experience are the most critical things. The Augmentity performance team will look for the cure, and the cause.

Utilizing the newest Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools Augmentity will establish baseline performance for the problem applications.


Identify Bottlenecks
Augmentity will look for bottlenecks throughout the entire transaction. From the web interface to the database and everything in the middle, Augmentity will isolate the problem and develop a solution.


Improve Throughput
Application and server tuning can take the form of simple variable changes to complete server migration. The architecture team at Augmentity is trained in tuning of the even the most complex applications.
